Certificate in Advanced English exam corresponds to level C1 of the CEFR and has four papers: Writing, Reading and Use of English, Speaking and Listening. The Reading and Use of English is worth 40% of the marks, whereas Listening, Writing and Speaking each carry 20% of the marks. Paper 1 contains eight parts (56 questions) and takes 90 minutes. You are expected to be able to comprehend texts taken from a wide range of sources like magazines, novels, short stories, newspapers, reviews and internet articles. Use of English is about complex grammar with a particular focus on advanced-level vocabulary.
